I had been really struggling with what I wanted to say in the wake of the 2016 presidential election. a few days before the inauguration last year, it finally came to me. we are in a time where outrageous lies are being peddled wholesale as truth. lies about who has humanity, who deserves dignity and rights, who is dangerous and even the state of our planet. the way to be a hero in a time like this is to find out the truth, and tell it loudly and often. this song is a challenge and a reminder to myself to be a bold truth-teller and hopefully it can be the same to you.
