I reckon half of this album is some sort of rock, and the other half is, well...other! There is an ambient song, an electronica song, a pretty, retro almost doo-woppy number, a song that goes thru a variety of styles, and a big band shuffle number that I even sing on...what?!
I performed just about everything, but did get SOME help: The ambient song contains a field recording of around 300 contestants warming up for a bagpipe marching corps competition at the Scottish Games in Washington. I walked around taping the hypnotic cacophony, then mashed it up and layered instrumentation on top. Two other songs were recorded at my brother Doug's place with him playing bass on one (5)--both bass and guitar on the other (9).
And then there is the amazing help from P. Earwig on the artwork. Huge thanks to both Earwig and Doug!
