shapes appear from time to time within this dream
with sapphires glowing through blurry lines
rising in the heat.
and you can’t move as they draw near
but never arrive.

to block out those eyes.

just wind up the thread upon its spool
to the point where it frayed.
to that mythic past burned in your mind:
