Keep Going by Matt Cluthe

I have a lot of new song ideas brewing, but decided to pass on recording one of my spontaneous EP's tonight.

My/our Mom passed away a couple of months ago and playing the guitar has helped me tremendously. I've been writing a ton and sometimes I just plug in and let go for hours to help me heal. I'd give anything to unplug the guitar just to hear her voice again. She was truly an amazing Mom, human and friend. I miss her so much.

I was all prepared to write and record another spontaneous RP tonight, but instead I decided to strip everything away and play some of her favorite songs that I've written. She always told me which songs she really liked, and this is a collection of them. There are others as well & I may do another installment of some of her favorites in the future.

She was a fan of my introspective songs. I think she was a fan because she knew that I was trying to work something out...to have it make sense. She wanted the best for everyone.

So, here we are. Per usual, so edits/overdubs/re-records/warts and all..just raw and honest. I think Mom would approve. I jotted down a few songs on a piece of scratch paper and wrote out the songs to play. There's a nod to a band I love and a song that has helped me though these days. Thank you, PJ.

Last thing....When I was stuck on something, Mom would say "Keep going."
