Odyssey by Matt Adcock

ODYSSEY is an instrumental album written and produced by Matt Adcock.
Inspired by science fiction movies and television shows from the 1950s to 1980s and also inspired by the Apollo and Shuttle missions from the 1960s to 1980s, ODYSSEY is an atmospheric, cinematic and sometimes ambient journey into the cosmos.
The album is divided into 2 parts:
Part One is a 25 minute journey (divided into 4 seamless tracks) from launch to the endless reaches of space.
Part Two is a 35 minute tour of the major planets in our solar system. Part Two is a continuous piece which is divided into 9 separate tracks for easy access to each track, but has been written specifically as a continuous piece of music.
ODYSSEY is a musical journey which has been written and recorded like a movie, so it is best experienced from start to finish without a break.

The first 4 tracks are a continuous 25 minute voyage from the launch pad to the endless depths of space. The voices heard in Part One are from actual recordings of the Apollo 10 and Apollo 11 missions which NASA released into the public domain.

Part Two (tracks 5-13) is also a continuous musical voyage, this time as a tour of the major planets in our solar system beginning with an introductory track (Planets), then visiting each planet from the sun, starting with Mercury (Close To The Sun), Venus (Love And Beauty), Earth (Earth Day), Mars (Red Planet), Jupiter (Jovian Storm), Saturn (Rings Of Saturn), Uranus (Ouranos) and the farthest known planet in our solar system Neptune (Distant Orbit).
There is a short introduction to each planet as we visit them by our tour guide, with some useful information about each one.

For the best listening experience it is highly recommended that you listen to Odyssey from beginning to end in one sitting, with the volume up and the lights down.
