Creeping Pink is the project of Landon Caldwell. This album has been described by himself as ‘tape glamour’, and whistling, gurgling lo-fi noises permeate Mirror Woods.
Songs that forgo traditional pop structure, and feature densely layered textures and atmospheres that can only be described as aggressive.
And yet, as Castle Face Records manager John Dwyer points out, the album is first and foremost a pop record. It's an album that oozes sun-dappled nostalgia for a pop purity that can no longer be achieved. It's post-pop.
Creeping Pink oscillates between spacey electronica and psychedelia with a good dose of experimentation thrown in for good measure on Mirror Woods.
This album is for the intrepid listener familiar with the hallucinogenic both musically and physically.
