Windshield wipers back and forth
I’m inside, warm and dry
The outside world is crazy
I pass it by

Pass the pink house on the highway
Where we used to turn
It always reminds me
Of things I never learn

Roads we could have taken
Turns we should have made
Times we ran
When we should have stayed
The choices we made

You were so stubborn
With your little heart of stone
I knew you always worried
You’d wind up alone

We’d Stay up late and watch
The night turn into day
get all those big ideas
Watch them slip away

heard you were halfway home to Jesus
You’d finally seen the light
You were almost there
Then you veered off to the right

First hello’s and last goodbye
Never agains and one more tries
We wind up where we are
And wonder why
The choices we make
