MOnuMENT by Maria Faust
MOnuMENT – the new album from composer and saxophonist Maria Faust – is an enchanting architectural journey that zooms into and out of the heights and depths of a Gothic castle on the Estonian island of Saaremaa. The Kuressaare Castle would be a source of inspiration to both Faust and Louis Kahn as both artists would spend some of their formative years on the island, albeit generations apart. Equal parts glorious and gloomy, Faust casts a Kahn-inspired Fenno-Urgic spell and tells Talmudic Tall Tales through a labyrinth of layers.

Maria Faust (born on April 18, 1979 in Kuressaare, Estonia) is an Estonian alto saxophonist and composer currently living in Copenhagen.
She is one of the most successful Estonian jazz musicians of all-time and the recipient of numerous prestigious awards and honors including multiple Danish and Estonian Music Awards.
