AfroWhimsi FantaSea by Marbelite

A gift to time, myself, my ancestors, and friends.
AfroWhimsi FantaSea is a collection of songs I made in the span of eight months while living in New York two years ago. I previously released this project under a different name but then deleted it after having doubts.

Now however, times have changed and so has my spirit. I am pleased to reintroduce this project, now remastered, into the Marbverse. For starters, I've learned a valuable lesson about what it means to sit with my own creations. In the months following my departure from NYC, my hard drive failed. I lost everything. Loss is something I'm very familiar with, as I've shed many many personal and artistic possessions in the short time I've been alive. I find that after I lost access to my music, I cherished it more, I valued it more, because it stands as a time capsule to my past worlds.

The special thing about AfroWhimsi FantaSea is that as much as it encapsulates my time in New York, it very much represents an evolution I'm currently experiencing as I continue to experiment and alchemize the sounds of NeoJaque. In essence, AfroWhimsi FantaSea is probably the most quintessentially Marbelite project. I did not have the language for it then, but I can now name the whimsical, otherwordly and sometimes straight up outlandish sounds of this project as my most ambitious leap into the AfroWhimsical world of music at the time.

So without further adornment, I present to the Marbverse....

I would describe the sound as crystalline, watery, ancient, and airy.

Ghetto is Afro-whimsical. NeoJaque is the evolution of New Jack Swing.

Marbelite is Bold. Marbelite is Queer. Marbelite is Sensual.
