This album is saturated with the smoke, ash, fear, loss, determination, hope, generosity, grace and heart of the victims of the December 30, 2021, Marshall Fire which raged a little over a mile from Mad Dog Friedman's basement studio where these songs were spontaneously composed and recorded in the weeks following the tragedy.
