5. Arctic Nights
Many journeymen have fallen to Iceland. The most of which rest somewhere among the hills and valleys, vanquished by its unyielding night. Yet, the indigenous tell tales of a much more mysterious land. Common among these, the Huldufólk or hidden people - elf-like monsters from another world. The settlers pay little attention to these Inuit yarns. They fear the arctic night, plenty.

Godthåb Sanitarium Case Notes by Dr. Ijaakaaq Jensen , Dated the 8th of November, 1874.
[The following notes have been translated from its original text in Kalaallisut Greenladic. Inaccuracies may be present.]
Patient: Eric Alcott
Birth: 17/02/1843
Origin: United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland
Language: English
Diagnosis: Pending
Patient was brought to the sanitarium by rural Inuit on November 5th after collapsing near a creek. The Inuit did not know the patient and was unable to provide any details. Patient speaks of a research venture that he had to leave. He was unable to articulate any reason for his leaving, nor how he traveled. Since his arrival yesterday, Patient has regularly made ludicrous claims about metaphysical, demonic forces. Each comment was made with increasing hysterics. Patient appears to have a significant unease about nightfall. This writer speculates his delusions are exacerbated by the long arctic nights which, are increasing their duration with the passing day.
