One year down
I would dare anyone
to pin it to their coat
violet town
by the dam, brittle shell
the mountain
bereft by a tiny ravine

and oh the sweet incline
white wash, black ice
white winking black diamonds

waver at the summit
and below on back to you
wine soaked eyes
in a cognac garden
an awning, ornate
in an ivy bound dream

and oh you’re lovely there
one foot through my windowsill
wild lavender at my doorway

holy smoke!
filling up the avenue
the clutter we burnt in my yard
orchards groan
with the weight of oranges
how a pine leans
with the weight of what’s
blossomed and been
