Brad's Puppy by Lou-Lou-Lou

Recorded on a Boss BR-532. These are excerpts from the first album. It's always a good time when you don't really care about much other than your own creative process. Also, the Welcome track baseline is a ripoff of an old Bill Laswell song. I knew I was onto something with these recordings when I overheard some rando call To The Floor 92 pretentious bullsh|t. Out of all the 7 comments I've heard about our music, that one was my favorite, sort of.

Using Moog, microKORG, a loop pedal, a circuit-bent Casio, and a circuit-bent drum machine, Lou-Lou sound like a cross between Quintron and ADULT., as quirky DIY tones swirl and smear around rudimentary beats and understated husband/wife vocals. As a change-up, Lou-Lou turn Public Enemy's "Megablast" into a down-low bit of eldritch funk. There's something to be said for stripped-down, bedroom electro pop that hits you like a strange children's television show, so I'm saying it now.

Lou-Lou-(Lou) have carved out a distinctive niche in Seattle's underground music milieu; their handmade, lo-fi recordings have slithered among IDM, hiphop, and electro pop with baffling dexterity, like a Northwest Quintron or Residents. Every Lou-Lou release and show is an adventure. DAVE SEGAL
