In Bloom from Two Gardens by Louise Kelly
Many tears fell while making this track.
I went through old hard drives to find various recorded conversations, mostly at bedtime, that my daughters and I made over the years. They said so many adorable things. I wanted to make their ideas, and in one case a song Bella wrote when she was 12, sound like their were planted in the bed of synth sounds that Aminata made.
Aminata originally created this track as the outro for "Just Say Yes." I spliced it off and made it its own thing. Even while listening to this outro without planting the kids' thoughts and ideas- just Aminata's first take- also brought tears to my eyes. It sounded so alive, reflective, and magical.
