There were monsters
waiting outside
The entire time
So we embraced them
and laid upon the grass in the broad daylight
In nothing but our skin

They had fangs
They had anger
and we mocked them
The hole in our hearts
what we used
As we fought them

right beside their home

When they finally noticed
We were wrapped up in the sheets
In another town

There were monsters
waiting inside
the entire time
So we fled them
fleeing for our lives
Into the darkest depths of eachothers' hearts

They were larger
and darker
So we ran
They took control
They lashed out and hurt our friends
