on a game show where the buzzer’s never lighting up
counting down before my throat is finally tightening up
inner monologue says “everybody hates your guts…
stay at home next time & spare the silver lining stuff”

give me a minute or 2, can we throw it to commercial
the lights are beating down, the prompter’s going round in circles
convertible is rusted, the detergent’s leaking out
