Loek van den Berg was awarded with an Edison Jazz ('Dutch Grammy') as 'Best Newcomer' for his album debut Wayfarer. The title track also was awarded 'Best Composition' of the Dutch Jazz Competition.
His compositions are stories that he came across while travelling and touring with his quintet. He blends contemporary jazz with world music and neo classical influences.His newest release is Seafarer.
