Aurora Borealis by Alegria, Tellus, Ewski, Istota, Voitek Noir

Hailing from Poznan, Poland and leading the legendary DrumObsession crew, Locked Concept welcomes Alegria for his debut on the label.

Alegria was first approached for a release on Locked Concept following his debut EP - ’Petrograd’ on Akuratyde's Modern Conveniences. Although this wasn't the first time Lockjaw and Tellus had heard of Alegria, with the two label co-founders coincidentally seeing him DJ, supporting Kid Drama at one of the DrumObsession events in Poznan, way back in 2015.

Fast forward to 2024, Alegria delivers his forward-thinking ’Aurora Borealis’ EP. With different Poznan-based artists collaborating on three of the four tracks, the release stands as a sonically diverse contribution to the Locked Concept catalogue.

The title track - a joint effort with Tellus - kicked the entire effort off in the blissed out Autonomic style both artists love. Ewski, who used to be part of a legendary dubstep collective (Dungeon Beats), also found common ground with Alegria on ’The Healer’, which is the smoothest, and most delicate piece on the EP. ’Terra Incognita’ with Istota, who used to run a short-lived albeit stellar experimental drum & bass label Black Crane, is a 130 bpm bass-driven electro / breakbeat hybrid. Finally Voitek Noir joins Alegria on ’Englishman’ in a beautiful 80s-inspired Autonomic storytelling piece for the patient listener (wait for that second drop!).
