Åker by Liis Ring

'Åker' is the Swedish word for a (cultivated) field, but if you are not familiar with the language, feel free to call it 'Acre' (since it is pretty close in both meaning and pronounciation).
The sounds on 'Åker' are sounds from the fields combined with musical interpretations of them. Sometimes the field is the living room, sometimes a lake, sometimes an inner landscape. On this album, they interact and intertwine with the instruments and the vocal and play their own vital part in the arrangements. The songs on this album are all recorded where they happened, and as close to the moment of inspiration as possible. Some are one-takes, some random improvisations, some might be called demos, some resemble weird pop-tunes... but my aim was to preserve a certain amount of rawness or spontaneity or whatever you might want to call it.
