Spirits by The Light Upon Blight Ensemble
Recorded Live at the Ely House of Contemporary Art in New Haven, CT on August 26, 2020, for New Haven Jazz Underground's quarantine/social distancing live stream series. All participants (except for Richard while he played) were masked before, during, & after the performance.
The Light Upon Blight Ensemble is the jazzier & groovier off-shoot of the Free Improv/Psych/Doom/Noise project Light Upon Blight.
The performance was recorded on an inexpensive digital, stereo recorder. The tracks contain no edits and have been sweetened with minimal amounts of EQ and limiting. The recording is kind of lo-fi, which fits the group's aesthetic.
