Liberated Dissonance is dedicated to my mother Randi Freeman who has spent her life receded to give
me the best life she could and supports me to this day in every way imaginable. I literally would not be
here without you and certainly would not be the man I am today without you. Thank You for everything
including teaching me how to be proud and love myself.
1. Prelude in Eb Major.
Written in 2007-2008 when I was 15 at Crestone Apartment Complex in Colorado Springs. Inspired & Dedication to Ludwig Van Beethoven.
2. Oceanic Transition.
Written in 2008 when I was 15 at "Rainbow Lodge" in Manitou Springs Colorado. Inspired by Sam O'Neil.
3. Prelude in A Major
Classily inspired and influenced by Gymnopedes by Erik Satie. Composed in 2008-2009 for Russell Hill. Written in Colorado Springs in the basement of 1923 McCooke Drive. Prelude in A Major was Alexander Freeman's first ever single from "Liberated Dissonance" in 2022
4. Prelude in E Major
Classically Inspired and Influenced by Erik Satie. Composed in 2010 at The Zickefoose Residence in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Prelude in E Major is the second single from Alexander Freeman's debut album "Liberated Dissonance" 2022
5. Fantasy of Dissonance
Working title "Rock in E" Written around 2015-2016 in "The Sugar Shack" in Fountain Colorado. Fantasy of Dissonance started as a blues piece inspired by Stevie Ray Vaghn and ended up becoming a heavy metal piece, the only song of that genre from "Liberated Dissonance" 2002
6. Fantasy of Liberation
Working title "Fantasy" Written around 2016 and inspired by Charlie Christians work on "Till Tom Special."
7. Prelude in D Minor
Working title "Prelude in F Minor." Written in 2013 at my grandma Nancy's house in Colorado Springs when I was 20. Written for Jared Gilmore and inspired by "Once Upon a Time" episode "Manhattan." Prelude in D Minor will be orchestrated with two French horns(B flat), an oboe and Piano. This version will be available soon on all platforms.
8. Not So Blue
Written in 2020 at "The Sugar Shack" in Colorado Springs at a very happy time. "Not So Blue" uses a I-IV-V blues progression with poly tonal major 6ths. It was meant to be a blissful tune in both F and C Major but happens to use an 8 bar blues chord progression hence the title "Not So Blue." Recording began with a piano, kalimba and a spice jar of flax seed. It was a creative decision at that point to use as many percussion instruments as possible.
9. After the Sunshine
Working title "Guitar Fantasy." Written in "The Sugar Shack" in Colorado Springs. "After the Sunshine uses a picking pattern and consists of only 1 electric guitar. After the Sunshine barrows chords from Charlie Christian, Lou Reed, Classics IV as well as others made up on the spot. After the Sunshine sounds like its in A Major but is actually a modal piece like John Coltrane's "Impressions" or John Lennon's "#9 Dream"
10. Just Another Fantasy"
Written in 2020 at "The Sugar Shack." "Just Another Fantasy" started as two different practices exercises and borrows chords from Jimi Hendrix "Third Stone From the Sun" and Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side." The second part uses a Major 7 figure on the guitar and "vamps" between D Major 7 and C Major 7. More can be found on "Just Another Fantasy" on Alexander's YouTube channel @ALF8892 in the videos "Behind the Scenes of Just Another Fantasy" parts 1 and 2. The artist has no recollection of recording the electric piano included on this track but was pleasantly surprised to find it recorded the next morning. The mystery surrounding this recording inspired the release of the third single from "Liberated Dissonance" 2022.
11. Liberated Dissonance
The title track of Alexander Freeman's debut album was written in 2020 at "The Sugar Shack." Liberated Dissonance was intended to be a classical piano piece as part of an epic, much larger work and became a modal, non functional, improvision based on harmonic movement. Many factors went into the name "Liberated Dissonance" including an Adam Neely video where he describes the final level of jazz composition as "Liberated Dissonance." Freeman loved this concept and chose that the title of the album. Later on, due to the nature of the composition the song also gained the name "Liberated Dissonance"
12. Prelude in B Major
Prelude in B Major is the fourth single from Liberated Dissonance. Prelude in B Major was written in 2021 at "The Sugar Shack" and is dedicated to Roman Griffin Davis.

"Etude for You" was originally the sixth track on the album but was later cut due to flow and
quality. "Etude for You" was written in 2012 and is still played in concert by the artist although unpublished.
The entire recording process took place in the "middle room" of "The Sugar Shack," an 11x16 ft room where the artist lived for 7 years.
The mastering, mixing and editing process was done in
"The Sugar Shack" in Colorado Springs and my mom's residence in Clearwater Florida.
Alexander Freeman intends to publish a poetry book in 2022 or 2023 as well as another album
in 2023 or 2024.
Special thanks include: Perry Freeman, Randi Freeman, Nancy Freeman, Brian Rountree,
Chandra Moffet and so many others who always supported me, believed in me, and
encouraged me to follow my dreams over the 15-year process of the album.
