I wrote this one during a thunderstorm one night last year, while I had an ex from a while ago on my mind. As it turned out, I got a girlfriend a not long after I wrote this one, and I ended up playing it for her when things were going badly with us. She dumped me two days later, but I don't blame the song.
I really wanted to do something with that fingerpick-y John Butler thing, but with that low Jack Johnson style vocal line, and I think this sorta came out somewhere close to what I was after.
