Emerging from semi-hibernation to write and record songs. Lots of singing, towering ambition and sincerity, awkward musical pauses, negative space, minimalism (until that changes), friendly collaborators, traditional songcraft, music for the lovely/ugly moment(s). Influences? Jason Molina, The Velvet Underground, Low, Rowland Howard, raptors applying invisible paint to the sky, Mercury Rev, Red Garland, tidy houses, The Congos, pedal steel (but not on these songs), Future, Alex Chilton, Connie Converse, Bill Fay, Gary Stewart, British rap, quiet but audible fans, Gillian Welch, water running over rocks, basketball games (with the sound off), Broadcast, Yo La Tengo, and The Staples Singers. That's about it. Oakland, and wherever friends are found.
