Hotboot 001 is a four-track collection of sample-based edits made for sun-soaked parties and late-night dancefloors. Each track is a personal rework that blends groove, nostalgia, and a clear love for the originals.
“Wow” is built around a tune by André Gagnon, discovered during a set by the legendary Daniele Baldelli. Its cinematic flair gets recontextualized for the club, with a hypnotic edge that pays tribute to Baldelli’s cosmic influence.
“Defence” fuses breaks, disco, and funk, anchored by a live bassline from Filippo Rinaldi, bassist of the iconic Vicenza-based funk band Vertical. The idea was to breathe life into the groove, make it feel human, and Filippo nailed it on the first take.
“It’ll All Be Over” is a bootleg of the Supreme Jubilees’ timeless track, reimagined with a disco-forward push. Inspired by DJ Koze’s emotive remix, this version leans more into dancefloor energy while keeping the soul intact. Nothing revolutionary, just a heartfelt reinterpretation, built as a DJ tool.
Closing the EP, “Right Place” flips Dr. John’s In the Right Place into a stripped, floor-ready groove. The result holds onto the original’s raw charm, but with a club-centric focus.
