Les Gypsies de Pétion-Ville formed in 1971 when guitarist Robert Martino left Les Difficiles de Pétion-Ville to create his own ensemble. The group achieved significant success, releasing six albums, with "Haiti" Album IV - Fierté being one of their most celebrated works. It is the fourth studio album by Les Gypsies de Pétion-Ville, a prominent Haitian music group known for their compas and Latin-inspired rhythms. Released in 1974 it features compositions that blend traditional Haitian melodies led by Kompa Maestro Robert Martino with Latin influences, showcasing the group's musical versatility. Notably, tracks like "Compas 2"; "Gypsie en Douce"; "Haiti" are always among fans' favorite, highlighting the band's unique sound.
