Lyrics
Winter Peach
by Leila Neverland
Somethin’ magical ‘bout eatin’ canned peaches when it snows.
The summer warmth lights up my being from my head to my toes.
Laden on oats and toast and kasha,
I ain’t fickle ‘bout the food we grow.
Grateful for the folx who work with shovel and sickle and garden hoe.
I don’t really think we know how lucky we are,
when we take time in a day to bitch about our cars from afar,
like all the beasts with stars upon thars.
I’ve been waiting for the ocean to come tumblin' down
but it gets warmer in the winter and colder in the summer somehow.
So maybe things just aren’t exactly as they seem to be,
at first glance.
Rose coloured romance.
Maybe all the lies we keep perpetuating and integrating
are keeping us down.
Push us West 'til we drown.
Maybe someday all the people in the world will let go of it all:
This strive for endless wealth and longevity might be the end of us all,
but I think we have the chance to change for the best.
I think we have the power to sit peacefully and ignore the rest.
It’s time we grow strong from within
If we grow strong,
we surely will win.
Shine bright.
Shine bright.
Shine bright.
