Okeanos by Lars Bartkuhn

Okeanos is a track I made in 2008 and it features some techniques I haven't used before (at least not during the Needs days): Usually I wrote my stuff beginning with chord progressions (sometimes in form of massive pads, sometimes more rhythmically focussed using piano or other sounds).
But in the case of Okeanos I started with a melodic bass line that outlines the chord structure already all by itself. That's why chords weren't really necessary and later I approached the chordal structure in a more sparse arpeggio kind of way. That gave the whole track a pretty loose and light feel.
Like "Dimensions" this track features the "two bridges approach" which I really love. I think it really helps the music to tell a story and overall add more drama.
