Proceeds from this album will be directed to the family of my dear friend Joe Munoz. Joe ended his battle with depression this July, leaving behind his partner and their two beautiful young children, Hannah and Sophie Rae. Joe was the light of every room he walked into. I got to know Joe over the course of 13 or 14 years, we bonded over the difficulty of depression, love of bad jokes and working at the Park Cafe in Salt Lake City together, Every time I visited my hometown over all these years, I've made sure to stop in and see him, to catch up and share coffee together, even if he was working, he always made time, especially the days he found out he was going to be a father, and afterwards, sharing how much he loves his kids, his smile on those days was a sun unto himself, that seems to be the ongoing description of Joe, a sun unto himself.
