Kun by Kym Pepe
Having established herself as a backing and co-vocalist for Maltese alternative band Brikkuni and many others, 2020 became the year that Kym Pepe would pursue a different path and take the centre stage for the first time.
Ringing in fellow Brikkuni confidants Jimmy Bartolo & Oliver Degabriele, the trio's chemistry swiftly arranged Kym's demos into eclectic, synth layered indie tracks which when paired with the singer's unique timbre, added a whole new dimension to Maltese sung music.
Kun' is the first instalment in Kym's journey as a solo artist and though it being her debut, it has quickly garnered attention as one of the freshest sounds that the Maltese alternative community has to offer.

Though only once heard as a backing vocalist for many of Malta's top alternative bands, Kym Pepe's journey as a solo artist gives the listener a fresh approach to Maltese indie pop music. Still retaining the haunting arias that the singer is known for, Kym's debut EP 'Kun' also shows off the songwriter's knack for catchy synth layered tracks fused with relatable lyricism.
