Imposter syndrome: It's not just for successful people anymore!

you produce it in your body, I dissolve it on my tongue
Imposter syndrome isn't fun

I'm not an imposter and I don't accept self accusations like that
I'm not an imposter so why does my voice still make folks react
and it's still surprising when strangers ask me if my genitals are done
Imposter syndrome isn't fun

I was a boy when I was a child I didn't transition retroactively
And though some people do and that's okay I know I shouldn't be the one gatekeeping me

I am a woman now: I'm not a girl I wasn't raised as one
I am a woman now who deals with a lot of testosterone poison
so I cover my head up, like other women have done.
Imposter Syndrome isn't fun.
