Rokton + Formanta by Kryptogen Rundfunk + Hladna

Hladna and Kryptogen Rundfunk - behind these names stand two St. Petersburg-based musicians playing experimental noise music. They both nourish a tender passion for old electronic instruments and often use them at their concerts and on recordings. One warm sunny day they gathered and decided to play on two analogue rhythm synthesizers "Rokton" and "Formanta". These are actually two identical instruments which were produced in the Soviet Union by two different factories. Each of them is the "brain" for electronic drum-kit, but can also be used separately - as a multi-channel tone-noise-generator or rhytm-machine.

Kryptogen Rundfunk used his device smoothly, evenly and calmly while Hladna expelled from his more sharp and unpredictable sounds. Worth mentioning are Hladna's non-standard ways of making sound - on the last two tracks he opened the back plate of his synth and played not only using knobs but also getting inside and abridging contacts with his own hands (for which he was incidentally struck by the current a couple of times).

Hladna и Kryptogen Rundfunk - за этими именами стоят два питерских музыканта, играющих экспериментальную шумовую музыку. Они оба питают трепетные чувства к старым электронным инструментам, и часто их используют на своих концертах и в записях. Однажды, тёплым летним днём они собрались и решили поиграть на двух аналоговых ритм-синтезаторах "Роктон" и "Форманта". По сути, это два одинаковых инструмента, выпускавшихся в Советском Союзе двумя разными заводами. Каждый из них является "мозгом" для электронной ударной установки, но может использоваться и автономно - в качестве многоканального тон-шум-генератора или ритм-машины.

Kryptogen Rundfunk использовал свой аппарат ровно, размеренно и спокойно, в то время как Hladna исторгал из своего более резкие и непредсказуемые звуки. Стоит особо отметить нестандартные приёмы звукоизвлечения Николая Николаевича (Hladna), который на двух последних треках снял с синтезатора заднюю крышку и играл не только при помощи ручек управления, но также залезая внутрь и перемыкая контакты собственными руками (за что, кстати, был пару раз нормально ударен током).

Живая запись без каких-либо обработок, со всеми естественными хрустами и вкусными перегрузами. Абстрактная электроника, минимализм и немного шума.
