Amethyst Pond from Ending Spaces by WW/RLLX

A perfect silence on a frozen pond full of fish still alive and rapidly moving. They press up to the transparent surface showing off their skin and tails. Cracks that can be heard but not seen, tiny stones being dropped from above, making dents in the solidified liquid. Perhaps a divine intervention, perhaps a test to see who prevails and why, perhaps a way to pass the time until everything starts melting away. Not even the wind dares to make a piercing sound, a muffled soundscape of branches vigorously moving behind a thick fabric wall.

long enough for the shapes to shift
and give way to other forms,
clawing away at the very
substance of its host.
