Pastels by Kilfeather
It was during Spring in the second year of the new millennium when they came. There were two options; Ride by ambulance free of restraint, or the other being a more hostile consideration.
Upon arrival you are stripped naked of your clothing and possessions.
After delousing, you are given a pair of gray pants and shirt. Then you are sorted by birth to your room where most of your time is spent.
You are given three square meals a day. Cereal with random fruit for breakfast, Sandwich with chips for lunch, and (Insert Protein Here) with instant potatoes and greens for dinner.
The only semblance of sweets are a bowl of after dinner mints, or "Pastels" as some people call them, located in front of the cage at the Nurses station.
Oh, joy.
"Trapped between mind numbing spaces and feeding what I see,
These white walls and these white faces cannot white wash me.."
