(LATER - usually further/deeper acquaintance (music, people, but not animals) bores me - but not with this album - I'm quickly coming to love it - this is less immediate than Passengering and Bourgeoisie, but I think it's at least as good as those two - and yes it is possibly now my favourite album of all my, um, albums)
Ah yes this is a bit better - this was quite a good horse to get back on after that poor thing I made earlier today and which I might delete soon - though maybe I should keep it, just so nothing in the future can ever be the worst thing ever.
This one might be going too far in the other direction. The drumming is quite brutal by my standards and the fact that it seems to have no relationship with the music going on around it is always a bit hard to take. There is a relationship - but it seems to have got lost. And while making it I was hearing bits of it a lot and the more I heard the more it all felt connected and good. And if it does sound a bit odd, then that is just because it is naturally ahead of its time - I am so grateful that such a forgiving concept exists. But I do like this album very much, and now I can finally rest, knowing that the day's good work is done.
