Myth 神话 by KINK GONG / bié 2023

Kink Gong recomposed the original recordings by Shi Tanding during her stays in Tibet between 2013 and 2019. The compositions on Side A are based on the performances of various Mahayana Buddhist ceremonies and prayers of the Tibetans, while Side B is the adaptation of some non-religious Tibetan folk songs and epic stories.

Both sides of this vinyl contain electronic treatments for the original recordings and are mixed to create a new way of listening to traditional Tibetan music and Buddhist rituals, with all respect for the music and cultures we both love.

《神话 Myth》这张唱片取材自施坦丁 2013 至 2019 年期间在藏地记录的传统音乐，包含佛法的仪式仪轨和格萨尔史诗说唱的片段。2022 年，施坦丁重新游历川、青、藏三大藏区，完成了影像作品《神话 Myth》的拍摄。七天的故事和相遇的人将历史、宗教传说与眼前的风景穿连在一起；而这张黑胶唱片亦与这些人、事互为镜像，作为 “声音 - 影像” 一体传达中不可割裂的部分，为 “观念” 与 “现实” 写下共同的注解。

关于 Laurent Jeanneau (劳弘-让诺)

出生在法国巴黎的实验电子音乐人，九十年代开始了记录不同部落的传统音乐，最初在非洲坦桑尼亚、肯尼亚等国，二十一世纪初开始持续在东南亚各国进行田野音乐采集。

Under the name KINK GONG you find 2 activities, the 1st one is to record ethnic minority music mostly in south-east Asia, the 2nd is to transform, collage, recompose the original recordings into experimental soundscapes.
