Kgafela le Marabele is a band led by Kgafela oa Magogodi. Marabele is a genre defying ensemble drawing from centuries old African musical traditions, jazz and spoken word. The sound grew from Kgafela’s spoken word. Indigenous instrumentation and traditional storytelling (Griot / Mooki tradition) are fused with jazz / world music.
