"Ghostly Desolation"

Yearning for the affection that walked away & left me broken
And such heartless cruelty placed upon the nightmares of a poetic heart
This soul seems lost but forever changing amidst the levels of solitude
Ghostly Desolation pulling the door shut & snuffing out any chance of light
In the quiet moments when the last tear is sliding down my bearded face
In this Ghostly Desolation, I feel will lost & out of place

Do we lie to ourselves in order to cope with the breaking heart, you tell me
We cherish the dead & the loved ones dying, no more fake prayers to console them
And if surrender is so sweet, tell me of adoration & a poet who worshipped at your feet
The Ghostly Desolation within me is knowing that without you my life is never complete
