The Candle from Beautiful Mess by Kendra Emery

The candle wants to reflect itself in the window and make that little red yellow farmhouse appear to be on fire
It goes on this way until morning takes over some mornings I am ready for a life in a house with somebody for a life with meals and love making
But there will be no love making only meals
How high the moon when below it every little house means you will never live here
The colors are gone and the footprints of my goings are lost to the snow which makes itself blank so many times making believe I have never set out up this highway before, nor ever come up to this door
