In the summer of 1989, I was working in a studio in Silver Spring with assorted drum machines, a Prophet 600 with its arpeggiator, and some outboard gear. This track was one of the resulting pieces.
The title came from the name of one of my composition students at the time. He had submitted some pieces, but they had nothing to do with the piece I called by his name. Rather, I found myself in the melting pot of the DC metropolitan area, meeting people from all over the world. I was celebrating the diversity and making something to spur my students on.
