When the Dust began to settle When my world was torn apart
I was walking through the wreckage Proudly wearing battle scars
I was sifting through the damage Never thought I’d come this far Moving hesitantly
But showing up with my whole heart
It might take awhile for my feet to hit this land
But I’m standing tall despite the shaking in my hands
I want you to know
That it’s never been this easy
For me to fall this hard
But something that’s been broken Has more room to let the light in Shines brighter in the dark
I took all the shattered pieces
and made abstract art
Of all the things that came together You’re my favorite part
Stepping back in the arena Terrified to start again
Even if my knees are trembling I will stand with open hands
Even if I end up face down I will lean all in
I would rather take that risk then never feel again
I want you to know
