Slow quiet (mis)treated solo piano. No bangings and crashings. And I think this is the first thing I've ever done without adding thick layers of BarbaraCartload-y reverb. Never before has my music been so exposed and bare. These are exciting times. This piece needs a few minutes to get into it - and for those many/all of you who still can't get into it, thank you for your time and sorry for wasting it.

Which reminds me .......... most mornings I have a quick skim thru the pages of latest releases on Bandcamp, and it is a little alarming to see that my albums take up about ten percent of Bandcamp's daily releases (some exaggeration) - though of course I account for absolutely zero percent of their best-sellers (no exaggeration). Loosely speaking, I must release about an hour of music per day.

And this of course is a big reason why I am not famous and rich yet. (There are other reasons, but I won't go into them here.) Think of the average music-fan. Goes to bed/sleep, goes to work, eats, does fun stuff, watches TV, travels etc etc etc .... how many hours do they/you/I have per day to listen to music ? A few. Say, for argument's sake, four hours per day. Then I am asking that they devote a quarter of their musical life to listening to me.

Yes I am arrogant, conceited, boastful, idiotic - but even I am not idiotic enough to think that's a reasonable thing to ask of other people. In fact, I think it is amazing and wonderful and thrilling that anyone ever even visits my page, even once per year - which isn't far off the actual total. But anyway. There we go. And here we go too - another album which you really don't need to listen to - and come to think of it I didn't really need to make - except that one day when I've rediscovered the thrills and fun of life again I shall look back on these quiet and strangely productive days and feel intense nostalgia for them - a nostalgia which, I now reassure my future self, is undeserved.
