Oh no don't say that that musical imposter Katharine Eastman has abandoned all that bangy-gtr and random-piano and decided to sink into an ambient sunset forevermore. Well I wouldn't be so rude about ambient - chiefly because I find it quite difficult to make - harder to make than the more varied stuff I was doing before. Trying to do a good ambient track is like walking on a tightrope, whereas trying to do a good bangy-gtr/random-piano track was like jumping up and down on a trampoline - the former takes concentration and skill (and, with me, luck), whereas the latter just takes a bit of early-morning energetics - which is easy-peasy for an energetic morning person such as myself.
Anyway, I quite like this track. It's one of those solid ones like the musical equivalent of a Rothko painting. That's it - I've got it - I used to be Jackson Pollock, now I'm Mark Rothko - you could do a good Pollock while drunk and casual, but you need a steady hand to do a Rothko - Pollock lived noisily, Rothko lived quietly - though they both ended their lives messily. Better that than DNR, a pre-epitaph written above the beds of the ones going less messily.
