My lovely fans, waiting so patiently for me to become rich and famous, just a little longer maybe, and then we can all call it a day and admit how ludicrous it all was. Let me tell you about today, because it was a happy day, and I know how uncool that is and I know I moan about how miserable everything is, if only to fit in with everyone else, but once in a while a beautiful day comes along and maybe future historians should be told that not every day in UK2024 was shit, just most of them.
Isn't the weather crazily beautiful. I am convinced that winter is over and we are now starting spring. A friend and I drove to the Green Dragon pub car park in Brook and parked and a fierce man came out and told us they weren't open yet and if it'd been me it'd've ended up in a row, but it wasn't me and my friend has the knack and she cooled him and we parted great friends - we walked all over, for miles and miles, through wonderful bogs and across fields greener than any fields can've ever been and hours later we came back and ate lunch at the Green Dragon.
The staff were lovely and the food was okay - every pub has the same thing. An old lady came and joined us and was easy company until her daughter found her and apologised and that was the first hint we've got that the old lady had dementia.
True story. And this is true too - this is the way the country has become - where the ones with dementia seem happier and nicer and better company than the rest of us, on days like this I no longer fear anything, and in fact realise that I never did, the world is beautiful-ish when you just let go.
