Third and I hope final of this brief run of post-break(down) underwhelming albums, and this is just about the best of them - though even the skittery drumming can't really rescue it totally. If at all. Maybe it all sounds different outside these walls. But no matter - failure is the spur - these three soft albums have emboldened me and I now know that I must be braver - as indeed we all must. I never forget the books written by nurses tending the dying in hospices - their patients' biggest regret is almost always that they weren't bolder throughout their lives. If the stroke strikes later today and I too find myself in one of those beds, will I want to look back on a little run of bland timid albums ? - no I will not. And I shall not.

(LATER: actually this thing is quite good)
