Recanr irevlan by LOSCIST IDREV
Composed in Winter 2022, and previously unreleased (only the first track had been released so far), this demo of Loscist Idrev can be considered my only real incursion in a very popular subgenre referred to as 'dungeon synth'. And to be honest, I didn't know much about it at that time! This idea of composing in such a subgenre came after long conversations with a very passionate friend who adores it and has an almost scientific knowledge of it! So I had sort of a crash course, and I must say that her passion was so communicative that after a while I thought, 'well, why wouldn't I try myself'? I bought a synthesizer for the occasion (I didn't have one anymore at that time!), and this is what I came up with, in just a few days (during a holiday). I even created a new composition technique for the occasion (it is fully explained in a Patreon post dedicated to the Project). Besides working a lot on harmonic colors, I really wanted to convey the idea of something old, like a music coming from the depths of a secluded place in an obscure past... The language used for the titles is Anfraiç, an experimental language based on French which I originally developed and first used for my Project Ivsur (https://kaleidarkness.bandcamp.com/album/el-enmgons).
Although I have composed more for this Project, I have no idea if there will be other demos; but I can say I had a lot of pleasure working on it, and it reminds me of the eerie, frozen landscapes of the Winter 2022 around my house. It was, so to speak, the last real Winter we had in France in my area (after that, Winter became almost nothing: a tragedy for someone like me, whose favourite season is precisely Winter !).
