i don’t ever wanna think about the day
when i’m away from everything no longer by your side
unfortunately, it is inevitable & though i look the other way
i know that everybody dies
the only thing that’s certain is everything is uncertain
for curtain call could come any given night
i wanted to thank you personally for giving some purpose to me
the golden epicenter of my life

i don’t ever wanna sit upon the bay
& contemplate all of the things i shoulda done in my life
proportionately, it is a force that’s against me
& though i’m running against it know it’ll catch me in time
the only thing that’s certain is the closing of the curtain
& it’s pertinent to every single life
i wanted to make it first to the tree observing the person i see
to nod and send him off into the night
