the migration and return of the short tailed shearwaters has always been of great significance to the people of the bass strait islands and another reason to celebrate the spring equinox. in this song, i make reference to the brown brothers, cape barren island musicians who played at the famous dances and balls on cape barren that many years ago, and whose music is still being played by the 'island coes'.
