Southern Song by Josh Johnston

Written by Josh Johnston and longstanding collaborator Doug Kinch, Southern Song is a tender tale of the exhilaration and strains of love seen through the eyes of a young man waiting for a train that carries his sweetheart. She has decided to make the leap to live in his hometown rather than have a long-distance relationship. Nerves, excitement, uncertainty, love all mixed together in one moment. Accompanied by guitarists Jack Maher (Declan O’Rourke, Sharon Shannon) and Tom Portman, the song is lifted by the string arrangement and clarinet playing of Marco Francescangeli.

The track will be the opening cut to Josh Johnston's forthcoming CD album Reasons To Fly.
