flower boxes
from the bookshelves

the fire with purpose
repurposing life
is my only purpose

i can cry louder than
the swamp marigold
forget more
than the forget-me-knots
persistent
as they may be

the wren
and bedstraw
keep me in line
i am the moth
draped in the
taken flesh
of the hummingbird
growing more
i intoxican
on the azaleas
dank nectar

guided by
vengeance
and the need
to make other’s choke
on my earned success
flaterly to me
won’t get you far

be factitious with me
and i will cut you down
with a wit whittled tip
i’ll split your crown
with a little help
from my rototiller
i’ll find your worth
in my compost heap
