1998’s Awake - the second collaboration with Chris von Sneidern - was perhaps the most daring album of Harding’s career: an "experiment in Gangsta Folk". Also featuring Scott McCaughey, The Young Fresh Fellows, Kelly Hogan and Chuck Prophet, this is Wes at his very best. Includes Miss Fortune - the song that became a 500 page novel - and the classic Window Seat.

Wesley Stace was born in Hastings in 1965. Since 1988, he has released many albums under the name John Wesley Harding - his most recent, 2018’s Wesley Stace’s John Wesley Harding, with the Jayhawks as his backing band. Stace has published four novels, including the international bestseller Misfortune, and recently co-wrote Mark Morris’ memoir Out Loud.
